Supplying bomb-proof polo paddles from Brasca

Our polo blades are widely used in Scottish polo. We can pretty much guarantee that you'll see our polo blades playing in every Scottish tournament. Most teams sport at least one pair and many have all their players using them. Polo is a primary interest at powerplay paddles, with all of us being keen polo players. We've sourced our polo blades from world class blade manufacturer Brasca - these blades have proven particularly bomb-proof and are capable of several seasons of hard use.We've also designed a specific layup of shaft which is made for us by Killwell Fibretube in New Zeland.

All of our Brasca polo blades are built with the Polo X kevlar/carbon reinforced shaft. The PoloX was built to our design standards by NZ manufacturers Killwell for use in aggresive and demanding polo situations. The kevlar/carbon is designed to absorb hard impacts, rather than splitting as Carbon/Glass can be prone to. The high stress areas of the shaft are reinforced with extra material. These are built to withstand the abusive lifestyle of polo leagues.

"It's about time someone made a proper polo mask..."

Two things used to annoy us about the classic polo facemask. Firstly there was always a line in front of one or both your eyes. Secondly, after a couple of seasons the plastic coating starts to come away as the metal rusts - they simply don't last. So we decided to do something about it.

A couple of years ago we started from scratch and designed a mask, not from pre-formed mesh but individually formed from stainless wire and shaped around a former. This is then hand welded and finished with a threaded lug to allow for an internal fitting.

The PowerPlay Polo face-mask has been specially designed for maximum protection without getting in your way. It's constructed from Stainless steel, as oposed to plastic coated steel, and the design around the eyes does not place bars directly in front of vision. The two great advantages - Improved vision while playing and they don't rust.

The PowerPlay Polo mask fits properly, allows maximum visibility, does not compromise protection and will last many seasons without degrading.

Since its launch it has proved a popular choice both with clubs for its longevity and toughness and with individuals due to the superior visibility and good looks.

Lomo Helmets

The guys at Lomo have produced a great-value paddling helmet - available in three colour, three sizes and with an excellent fitting system.

We can supply ready-made polo helmets - our masks fitted to a Lomo helmet. Just let us know the size and colour required (choose from White, Red and Yellow; Small, Medium, Large). To find out more about Lomo helmets, check out their site here..

Of course you can simply buy a mask and fit it to a helmet yourself. The mask has three pre-threaded connecting points and comes with bolts/washers. It has a degree of flexibility and we have found it to fit most plastic helmets. If you are unsure of fitting yourself or if your helmet is suitable, just email us.

We now work with Nomad, a world-class boat maker based in the UK. The Nomad Polo boat has an excellent hull design, great lines for fast turns and has integrated foam bumpers.
